Get In Loser, Mean Girls Is Coming in a Few Weeks!

Majority of grown women in this world must have gone through their puberty by imagining themselves as the Regina George back in the early 2000s. The euphoric sensation of becoming one of the hottest girls in the school will once again be experienced by a wider range of generations, since the Mean Girls remake is about to be released soon!

The Mean Girls remake—which is also written by Tina Fey—will feature the storyline of the 2004 version and its successful Broadway adaptation from 2017 to 2020. The movie version of the Tony-nominated Broadway show, commonly known as Mean Girls, and somewhat resembling a reboot, was officially announced to be in progress in 2020. The film is progressing rapidly and is set to hit theaters sooner than expected.

Similar to the 2004 release, the upcoming Mean Girls musical will narrate the journey of Cady Heron, a teenager transitioning to a new high school in suburban Illinois. Having grown up in the African savanna with her zoologist parents, Cady collaborates with the school’s “misfits” to integrate herself into The Plastics, the most popular trio at North Shore High, headed by Regina George, the queen bee.

The initial trailer features Olivia Rodrigo’s song “Get Him Back!” and begins with a disclaimer: “This is not your mother’s Mean Girls”. We see Reneé Rapp as the popular Regina George, sporting the famous “R” initial necklace. The iconic hot pink Burn Book makes a comeback, along with Damian and Janis showcasing their close friendship. Cady is shown being awkward around her crush Aaron Samuels, and the Winter Talent Show includes the infamous “Jingle Bell Rock” performance.

This movie was expected to premiere directly via Paramount+, but it was confirmed on September 22, 2023 that Mean Girls will premiere in theaters on January 12, 2024.
